Minutes of the Odry Meeting

Odry, 8-12 October 2004

Activities carried out

Olympic games (volleyball, ping-pong, bowling, team gimkhana); horse riding and swimming pool games.
Work session for the presentation of the YELLOW RING Sport and science: Science and development, science and physics, science and training, science and use of equipment, science communication and new technology.
Lunch of international dishes.

Work session for the presentation of the work carried out on the YELLOW RING.

Preparation for the next meeting in France

Embrun (France) from 4^th to 9^th of april 2005 – BLACK RING – CULTURAL EXCHANGE.

Each delegation will be formed by 2-3 teachers and 4-5 students. The school in agreement with the french organizers, may take a lager number of students who will sleep in hotels or in the school dormitory.
The teachers will sleep in hotels, whereas the female students (2 per delegation) will be placed with families and the male students will sleep in the school.

A national or regional dance, performed by 2 or 3 students and which will be taught to everyone for a final show.
One student per nation will play a musical instruments and will prepare the song “ We are the Champions”. The six students representing the six countries will form an orchestra that will play at the final show.
The french organizers will send out a poem by a famous french poet that will be translated and read in each language during the final show.
Each delegation will prepare a list of typical tongue-twisters.

The work of publishing continues with:

3 pages , written in english and in the currant language, about science and technology – YELLOW RING, and science and cultural exchange – BLACK RING
The work will have to be sent to the co-ordinator before the end of december .

Competitions

Each delegation will arrive at Embrun with maximum 5 proposals for the photographic competition and 5 proposals for the mascot competition.
The proposals must have name, surname and school of their creators written on the back.
There will be an exhibition of these proposals and the french will provide 10 prices for the first 5 in each competition.
The co-ordinating school of Oulx will provide certificates for all the participants of the international phase.
The jury will comprise of one student from each delegation and will be controlled by the organizers.
